Summer Classics New 2018 Line Shown At Chicago Preview Market

“The outdoor industry is as hot as I have ever seen it,” says Bew White, Summer Classics CEO and Founder of the Chicago Preview Market. “And we’re introducing more than 100 new collections and more than 120 new fabrics this season.”

Summer Classics introduced these new lines at the ICFA Preview Show held Tuesday, July 11-Thursday, July 13, where industry leaders had the opportunity to get an early look at the season’s latest in casual furnishings.

“Across the market, I saw an increase in the trend of functionality—furnishings and accessories that not only look good, but also make life a little easier or allow consumers to make better use of their space,” says Jennifer Bringle Features Editor of Casual Living magazine. “I love the way Summer Classics elegantly incorporated this trend into new introductions, such as adding a cup holder in Newport collection seating and the way-cool built-in speaker option in the Peninsula chair.”

Peninsula Upholstery brings a feel of the indoors to outdoor furniture

With the industry trend in outdoor continuing to have a look of indoor designs, many of the new introductions in the Summer Classics line are influenced by sister company Gabby. “One of the highest compliments that we receive is when a designer comes into our showroom and says they can’t believe this is outdoor furniture,” says Vice President of Sales Schon Duke. “What we heard our customers say over and over that they love the new fashion and new design that the Summer Classics line offers.”

This can be particularly seen in the new upholstery collections: The Baldwin and the Peninsula Upholstery.  And in keeping with this trend, the large fabric line offers great colors such as rich blues, greens, yellows and some fabulous black and white patterns among other colors. We’re also introducing some accent tables, teak dining tables and some bar carts.

One of the biggest trends we continue to see in the outdoor furniture market is customization. As consumers want their rooms to reflect their style, they come to the Summer Classics showroom to see how easily the pieces mix together and for the large selection of fabrics for cushions they can have custom made to create their own unique look.
