For more than four decades, The Casual Market Chicago has been the place to see the largest selection of the latest collections of outdoor furnishings. Showcasing the best in outdoor trends, design, color and more, this year’s show proved to be as big as ever with more than 250 manufacturers spread out among more than 300,000 square feet of exhibitor space.
And the vibe and energy was as strong as ever in the Summer Classics showroom. “It’s a big trend in the industry now for outdoor spaces to be just as comfortable and stylish as the indoors,” says Bew White, CEO and Founder of Summer Classics. “That’s one of the many things that makes us stand out. We also introduced a selection of more than 100 new fabrics in blues, yellows, greens and classic black and whites that bring great style to the outdoors.”
The new upholstery lines, both the Helena and the Baldwin, were very well received in the showroom. “We love it when our customers come into the showroom and say that they can’t believe this is outdoor furniture,” says Schon Duke, Vice President of Sales. “So many of our collections have the customizable look of indoor.”
The editors who came through the showroom agreed. “Casual Market 2017 was busy and booming with bold innovations! Summer Classics always pushes the boundaries!” says Clara Haneberg, Associate Style and Social Media Editor for Traditional Home. “This market, I fell head-over-heels for their new upholstered Baldwin swivel gliders.”
In addition, the Chicago Showroom was well-accessorized to look authentic and natural in their space. The new side tables and consoles allow our customers to create their own eclectic look in their outdoor spaces. All the new Summer Classics introductions are geared to let consumers showcase their own style.
Sneak Peak at New Pillow Line
Customers at the Casual Market Chicago were also the first to get a look at the new pillow line, Wendy Jane, created by Summer Classic founder Bew White’s daughter, Wynne White. “I saw a huge hole in the market for great-looking outdoor pillows that are actually comfortable,” she says. “Our new Wendy Jane pillows feel like down pillows and we offer them in great patterns. They look like custom-made pillows, and our customers in Chicago loved them.”
