Retired Moore Handley employees toured the facility that served as their former corporate offices and distribution center. The facility recently has been renovated into the new corporate headquarters of outdoor furniture leader, Summer Classics. About 35 Moore Handley veterans came to the new Summer Classics showroom to share company histories with new owner and CEO, Bew White. White gave a presentation on Summer Classics growth and the facility renovation project, followed by a tour.
One of the organizers of the Moore Handley group event was Mark Bentley. He is the father of Summer Classics sales representative of 18 years, Paul Bentley. Paul gave the tour of the newly renovated facility and served as host. Guests reminisced during the walk-through of the offices, manufacturing plant, design center, distribution center and outdoor furniture museum. The tour was followed by a catered lunch in the SC café.
President, Bew White recollected, “I remember driving past this building as a young boy around 1963 when I was 13 years old and asking my father what that building was, because I’d never seen a building that big, and he told me about Moore Handley.”
Paul Bentley said, “It was an impactful experience. I had 2 people come to me saying they would like to work at Summer Classics, which is a testament to the environment Bew has created here.”
