When designing Summer Classics teak wooden furniture pieces, we sought out the finest slow growth, plantation grown teak in the industry, the only kind rated for marine use. We build our wooden furniture using carved, not steam bent, pieces joined with mortise and tenon construction, using old world craftsmanship and modern technology. All teak has a desirable high oil and rubber content that, unlike other woods, imbues it with a natural weather resistance. This oil will seep out after the first few rainfalls and cure into a natural protective layer which develops a soft silver patina over time. Be sure to wipe your teak down and store your cushions separately for the first few rainfalls until it begins to silver to keep the teak oil from staining your cushions, as it is not covered under warranty. If you desire to keep the honey golden color of newly milled teak, use a teak cleaner and sealer a few times a year. Our teak is some of the finest in the industry and will serve you for many years. Summer Classics exists to provide Life’s Best Moments, Furnished.
